Spring Sale

Since 1959 the UU Princeton Spring Sale has been one of the largest rummage sales in Central New Jersey, offering shoppers the rare opportunity to support worthwhile charities while acquiring bargains and also reducing their carbon footprint by re-using previously owned goods. This year’s event, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton on 50 Cherry Hill Rd, (corner of State Rd (Rt. 206) and Cherry Hill Rd) will take place on Friday, May 3rd from 4pm-7pm with a $10 early entry cover, and Saturday, May 4th from 9am-2pm free entry.

What you’ll find at the sale

Come enjoy bargain-hunting among a large volume and variety of quality items. You never know what kind of treasures will turn up. The Spring Sale occupies the entire church building, upstairs and down, as well the grounds (weather permitting). You will find carefully curated sections of adult and children’s clothing and accessories, boutique & antique items, jewelry, electronics and office supplies, home appliances, kitchenware, art, furniture, sporting goods and outdoor equipment, toys, games, children’s books, baby accessories, linens and a flea market section filled with trinkets and keepsakes. There is also a Mother’s day plant sale.

100% of the sale proceeds are donated to Mercer area charities

Event co-chair and long-time UU congregant Amanda Gillum says the last year’s 2023 sale raised almost $30,000- a record-breaking amount- for grants to area non-profits that deliver emergency food, shelter, education and other services in Mercer County. “We estimate over half a million dollars has been raised over the past six decades” Gillum reports. Past grant recipients have included the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, HomeFront, Arm in Arm, and Womanspace. Click here for a full list of 2023 grant recipients.

Examples include cars, boats, fine furniture, gold jewelry, sterling silver, fine art, antiques, high-end bicycles and collectibles – items that we can often sell online for much higher prices than we’d be able to get at the Sale.

Send photos and descriptions of any large or more valuable items ASAP to springsale@uuprinceton.org so we can evaluate and promote them.
