Children & Youth Ministry Programs for 2025-2026
Pre-K/Kindergarten: (children under age 3 welcome to attend with their grown-up) Our Congregation – UU Princeton is a warm and welcoming place where we make friends and experience a sense of wonder and respect for the world around us. With Chalice Children we become familiar with our space and rhythm of our Sunday mornings together.
1st-3rd Grades: UU Identity & Ethics – Every day we go forth into a complex world where we are often faced with difficult decisions and situations. Moral Tales attempts to provide us with the spiritual and ethical tools we will need to make choices and take actions reflective of our Unitarian Universalist beliefs and values.
4th-5th Grades: Justice & Equity – Holy Troublemakers and Unconventional Saints is based on the book of the same name sharing original portraits and profiles of people of diverse faiths who have worked for love, compassion, and justice in their corner of the world, even if that meant rocking the religious boat. In addition to the profiles included in the book, our program includes biographies of Unitarians, Universalists and Unitarian Universalists.
6th-8th Grades: UU Identity & World Religions/Faith Traditions – Crossing Paths is rooted in our UU value of pluralism. Instead of claiming that one religion is better than others or that all religions are really different ways to the same end, religious pluralism treats religions as separate systems of belief that address distinct human challenges. Rather than seeing all religions as different paths leading to the same mountaintop, this view sees each religion as its own uniquely beautiful mountain. This program includes classroom learning and in person visits at local houses of worship that may occur outside of Sunday mornings.
9th-12th Grade YoUUth Group: Connection & Service – in YoUUth Group we empower our teens as they lead and serve while creating bonds with one another. The first Sunday of the month we meet for social time and activities. One Sunday a month we support our youth serve our congregation by assisting with the younger children or helping with coffee hour or at the welcome table or ushering. One Sunday a month we encourage “sit together Sunday” where youth meet in Channing Hall and experience worship together. In addition, we support teen initiatives in community service, fundraising and attending regional youth “cons.”
Program Schedules:
Sessions for Pre-K–5th grades are on Sunday mornings and begin after “Wonder & Wisdom” in worship, approximately 10:45am, and end at approximately 11:45am (after service concludes). The schedule for Pre-K–5th Grades can be found here.

There is a mandatory family orientation for Crossing Paths on Sunday, October 5 from 12:00pm-1:30pm in Founders Room. The draft Crossing Paths schedule can be found here.
High School (9th-12th Grades) YoUUth Group meets the first Sunday of the month from 10:30am-12:00pm, with the exception of November 2025, April 2026 & June 2026 when we will meet the second Sunday of the month. Our youth are encouraged to volunteer one Sunday a month with the younger children, with coffee hour, with welcoming newcomers or ushering during services.
