Rainbow LGBTQ Ministry

Our Unitarian Universalist principles call us to declare that every person has the right to flourish with inherent dignity and worth.
UU Princeton is a Welcoming Congregation that is proud to Be on the Side of Love.
UU Princeton Rainbow Ministry’s mission is to support and celebrate all members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and to fulfill the congregation’s goal of being a Welcoming Congregation. Our committed volunteers work year round to represent and connect UU Princeton to the wider LGBTQIA+ community, in Central New Jersey, the United States, and beyond.
Some of the ministry’s annual activities include:
- Holding a Transgender Day of Remembrance Service and a Vigil each November.
- Fundraising in support of local and regional queer organizations such as The Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice and HiTOPS.
- Representing UU Princeton at the annual Princeton Pride Parade.
- Organizing gatherings such as movie nights and other fun activities that create space for LGBTQIA+ members and guests to find joy together.
- Hosting educational programming on LGBTQIA+ issues.
- Coordinating with congregation hospitality groups and the Religious Education program to ensure that all queer visitors and members, from 5 to 95, feel that UU Princeton is *their* home too.
What does the Rainbow Ministry need?
It needs your ideas and your energy; your warmth and fellowship and your personal expertise; but mostly it needs YOU. Exactly as you are.
