June is Pride Month, when the flowering of LGBTQ+ community is often at its most visible and vibrant. But year round, the work of finding one’s “people” goes on in multiple quiet and profound ways. The concept of a “chosen family”, so important to queer culture, can have a special resonance to us as UUs overall. We search, ever onwards and wider, outwards and over generations, for our covenantal beloved community. But just as importantly, how do we do the emotional and relational work to keep them by us when we’ve found them?
