November 2025 – Spiritual Theme

Our Monthly Spiritual Themes guide our Chalice Circles, which are small, intentional groups of members and friends that gather for spiritual enrichment through personal sharing. For more information on Chalice Circles, please email chalicecircles@uuprinceton.org. Our Chalice Circle thoughts and questions around the theme of Prosperity this month are:

“Living with a mindset of scarcity, constant comparison with others, and anxiety about the future will keep the focus on what I don’t have or could lose. Valuing my current experience and developing appreciation for what I have enables me to experience a prosperous life no matter my circumstances.” –Neville Starick

To what extent do you agree with this statement and find it true in your life? Do you think that most members of society view “having a prosperous life” this way?

“To be content with nothing but what is in your power to give and receive [is the mark of a wise and happy man].” –Epictetus

How does giving and receiving affect your sense of prosperity?

“I cannot understand why men should be so eager after money. Wealth is simply a superfluity of what we don’t need.” –Abraham Lincoln

Do you feel that you have enough? How do you know?

“Early to bed and early to rise, make a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” –Benjamin Franklin, Poor Richard’s Almanack

What makes you healthy, wealthy and wise?
