The poet Mary Oliver begins her poem, The Journey with the lines: “One day you finally knew/what you had to do, and began.” From this beginning, she goes on to describe leaving behind that which would keep us from taking the journey’s that call to us. What gets in the way of taking that first step on our most important paths, and what does it take to overcome obstacles? This service will also include an observation of Memorial Day.
