We offer these programs around spirituality, religious exploration, and building a better world.

The Latter-Day Saints: Broadway and Beyond

Wednesday, Jan 10 and 17, 6-7:30 p.m. in Fahs Theatre
A global religion with uniquely American roots, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the subject of much speculation, conversation, and even a best-selling Broadway musical! For us, however, let’s start with the basics: what is the historical context of the faith, what are its basic beliefs, how have they changed over the years, and what are some of its denominations? There is no fee for this class, but registration is required. Please email Rev. Bill. All are welcome.

Movies, Popcorn, and God

Friday, Jan. 19 from 6-8:30 p.m. in Fahs Theatre
Eat popcorn, drink something fizzy, and watch the fascinating 2015 animated film Inside Out! Rated PG and marketed to kids, this film struck young and old alike with its playful, powerful story about the inner-workings of our emotional lives. We’ll watch the movie together and then chat about it afterward. All ages are welcome at this event. Donation is $10 per person/$20 per family, all of which goes to the church. Please email Rev. Bill. All are welcome.

Race and Racism 101

Sunday, Jan. 21 from 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. in Fahs Theatre
What are the basic understandings of race and racism that inform our faith’s anti-racist values? How does racism work in our lives, and what are some daily ways that we can counter it? All are welcome to this big-picture exploration of race and racism. There is no cost for this program, but registration is required. Please email Rev. Bill. All are welcome.

Centering with Sacred Reading

Wednesday, Feb. 7, 6-7:30 p.m. in the Founders Room
Join Rev. Bill for a quiet, contemplative spiritual practice that weaves together ancient and modern sacred readings and beautiful music. We’ll experience that practice as well as learn how to create these sorts of moments in our daily lives. There is no fee for this program, but registration is required. Please email Rev. Bill. All are welcome.

Gender Today and Tomorrow

Wednesday, February 28 from 6-7:30 p.m. in Fahs Theatre
The last decade or so has brought a revolution in how gender is understood in popular culture. New terminology, expressions, and concepts appear every day, each carrying implications for how we express our values in the world. Join Rev. Bill for a presentation and discussion on transgender, genderqueer, non-binary, and other gender terms and expressions. There is no cost, but registration is required. Please email Rev. Bill. All are welcome.
