UUCP is committed to supporting charitable organizations serving the needs of people in the greater Mercer County area. Through funds raised at our annual Spring Sale, we have provided financial support in the form of Social Outreach Grants to area charities for special projects and programs for well over 30 years.

A key factor in evaluating grant applications is strong advocacy and involvement of UUCP congregants. A member or friend of UUCP volunteers to serves as the "Sponsor" for a local charity. The 2011 Social Outreach Grant Application deadline was in January 2011. This spring, we awarded over $17,000 in Social Outreach Grants to 17 area organizations, with an increased focus on economic justice and poverty.
