Service Leadership Request

UUCP Looking for Guest Speakers!

Would you like to contribute to worship and creating opportunities for growth of others?  There are opportunities for guest speakers on Sundays throughout the year.  We would love to hear about your idea for a special service.  Submit an application for service leadership to share your insights and contribute to our congregation in this special way.

All worship services are expected to integrate one or more of our UU principles, and guest speakers are supported by a Worship Associate.   Please submit your application to the Worship Committee at the UUCP office soon!

Application for Guest Service Leadership

Guest Speakers provide leadership for those worship services that are not led by one of our UUCP ministers.  Guest speakers may be lay people or ministerial staff, committed to contributing to community worship and creating opportunities for the growth of others.  All worship services are expected to integrate one or more of the UU principles we promote:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person
  • Justice, equity and compassion in human relations
  • Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations
  • A free and responsible search for truth and meaning
  • The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and society at large
  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all
  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton is committed to the concept of shared ministry.  All services are partially led by lay people called worship associates who are trained for this purpose.  This associate works cooperatively with guest speakers.

A guest speaker/ service leader is responsible for both Sunday morning worship services on the assigned date (9:15 and 11:15 a.m.), or one 10 a.m. service during the summer.
